Standard funeral fee of £1975 + disbursements includes:
All arrangements (we work on a home-visit basis) and documentation, removal of the deceased person and storage at private Chapel of rest, conducting funeral service, administering donations and bringing ashes home to the family. Veneered-wood coffin, modern hearse with bearers to carry coffin. Total for cremation and burial at Chesterfield from £1975 plus disbursements (the fees we pay on your behalf).
Increasingly we are asked to simply take the coffin to the crematorium without a service taking place. This is usually because privacy had been requested by the deceased person and sometimes because the family prefer to have a private memorial service at a later date. In such circumstances it is possible to arrange a private or direct cremation from £1195. This includes taking the ashes home to the family of the deceased person.

Current fees charged for cremation of adults by Chesterfield Crematorium start at £370 for an unattended direct cremation. Attended services vary from £515 for a short service to £975 for a full service, depending on the time of the event.
Burial fees charged by different cemeteries vary considerably so please ask for an estimate on application. The fee may vary depending on whether a new grave is to be dug or an existing plot is to be reopened. In addition, there would be fees payable for (1) creating and erecting a memorial or (2) removing a memorial, adding an inscription and putting the memorial back in place. Fees (1) and (2) would be payable to an appointed stonemason and not the funeral director.
